Decorating With Asian Kitsch and Collectibles
One of my favorite quirky vintage inspired shops is featuring retro Asian tschotkes . Although Martha Stewart is talking about "Asian Exchange", April at Queen Anne Antiques in Canton, CT is talkin' Asian Odds and Ends.....some vintage and some "who knows". But the overall effect is funky, whimsical and fun
New Age Mamma Meets Retro Housewife
Let's just say that this month Queen Anne Antiques is a combination of New Age Mamma meets Retro Housewife meets Farm Girl. You will find milk bottles grouped with fifties kitchen bowls and than wham...a dragon or an elephant or incense burner. Look up look down, look in every direction and you will be surprised at every turn.
It all is mixed into one Bohemian Bazaar and it works. April has a way of making it pull together as if it belongs together.
Everchanging Parade of Oddities
Once a former junk shop, April has transformed this darling hideaway shop (off Route 44) in Canton, CT into a ever changing parade of oddities, kitsch, vintage clothing, wall decor, furnishings and more.
Welcome to April's Asian Gig
Back the the Asian gig April has going on... it started a few months ago when I smelled incense in the shop. O.K.I thought April wants to freshen up the air. Then slowly more and more Asian collectibles were finding their way into the shop...I guess April got tired of summer "Cottage". So now.......you will feel like you are back in your Hippie days with a mix of sixties textiles, decor and trinkets. And let's not forget the Lava lamps... there are plenty of those now as well.
