Kitsch Collectors: You Will Love "Under The Pig" In Park Slope, Brooklyn
Somehow I wound up on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn yesterday home to historic townhouses, hip eateries, bars, shops and "Under The Pig". Located between 4th & 5th St. "Under The Pig" in this popular section of Western Brooklyn, is a funky collectibles shop with
some of the best kitsch I have seen in quite awhile. And you all know how much I adore kitsch!
Floor to Ceiling Tschotskes
A small shop stacked from floor to ceiling with groovy tschotskes.
"Under The Pig" is a shop that got my attention immediately with funky stuff sitting on the sidewalk and a colorful window display of turquoise and yellow 1940s and 1950s pottery planters and vases.
New York, New York: Souvenir Kitsch
Once inside, I found lots of 1950's lamps, collections of vintage New York souvenirs, salt and pepper shakers", barware, beverage glasses, wall decor, pottery, tikki, kiitchenware, knick knacks, head vase planters, toys, games etc.
Formerly located in the East Villgae of Manhattan, Under The Pig's owner has been selling retail for almost a decade and has a following of retro lovers who appreciate Troy's ever changing inventory of oddities, memorabilia, decorative accessories, lighting, mod and fifties collectibles.
