What Are Birthday Party Goods Collectors Looking For?
My goodness, collectors are out there hunting for candles, candy cups, games, napkins, paper goods, favors, cake toppers, streamers, candle holders, novelty items and more.

But over the years as I did research for my book "Hot Kitchen and home Collectibles of the 30s, 40's, 50's I met a lot of collectors and sellers who love party goods.
Recently I discovered Pink Grapefruit Style on Etsy.com. This gal has an amazing collection of vintage notions as well as holiday and party odds and ends. She carries retro and vintage party goods, holiday decor, ornaments, wrapping paper, ribbons, buttons, trinkets, embellishments etc.

Not only is collecting retro party goods a lot of fun, but it is a pretty inexpensive hobby. Many party goodies are stashed away in old shoe boxes, tins or
drawers and can be bought in lots at flea markets, auctions and yard sales for peanuts ( a few dollars). Some collectors stick to one kind of party related collectible such as boxes of candles or candle holders. Others may limit their collection to "clown themed" or "ballerina" paper goods and accessories. Another collector might prefer collectibles of a particular era such as 1950's or 1940's. Party goods from these years are easy to find and just a few dollars. Expect to pay quite a bit more for party goods with Art Deco imagery or from the Victorian era and earlier.Note: Wedding cake toppers fetch quite a bit more than the paper goods and everyday birthday party goods discussed in this article.
