The Times reports that there has been a 10 per cent increase in the number of licensed barbers in the last tow years. Charles Kirkpatrick, the executive officer of the National Association of Barber Boards of America says the number has increased to 245,000 up from 225,000.

  2. So many books touch upon William Henson's design for a hoe-shaped safety razor in 1847. Patent photographs are easy to find, and at least one site claimed the razor was popular in its time.

    Is one of these razors known to survive today? I would very much like to see a photograph of this landmark razor, can/will anyone help me with this quest?
