Collecting Vintage "Merry Go Round" Frosted Beverage Glasses

Horse Themed Vintage Hostess Beverage Sets

Lemonade or Iced Tea Glassware Sets were quite popular in the 1950s and 1960's when entertaining on the patio was what 50's moms did. Many glassware manufacturers used similar patterns, The Merry Go Round horse is often found on a frosted white glass in pastel colors or  olid colors such as red or gold.  Libbey produced many Merry Go Round Hostess sets with tall tumblers.(I'm not certain of the manufacturer of the glasses shown above). Usually sets came with 6 or 12 glasses. You will find similar sets selling for $36.00-45.00. A fabulous older book on vintage beverage glasses  is "The Decorated Tumbler" by Hazel Marie Weatherman.

Collecting Vintage Car License Plates

Old License Plates: A Popular Collectible

If you have ever considered tossing out old license plates hanging around in your garage or basement, think again. There are so many different kinds of collectors who love these automobile collectibles. Some buyers are after a particular state or region, color, design, while others are looking for a certain date. Folks who restore old cars often like to find plates that match the year of the car. Today, collectors are not the only ones scooping up these affordable collectibles. Artists and crafters enjoy re-purposing  old plates into pocketbooks, artwork,  wall decor etc. For more about these  collectibles visit  http://antiques.about.com/od/miscellaneou1/a/aa022005.htm

Mid-Century Barbershop Chair: Leather And Chrome

Red Leather And Chrome Barbershop Chair

Can you guess what kind of chair this is? If you are thinking that this is the type of chair that one might have found in a  Mid-Century Barbershop waiting area, you would be right on the money. Today these chrome and leather chairs are popular once again. And buyers are not just looking for them for their shops, these funky chairs are finding their way into living rooms, offices and  lobbies. This chair was selling for $45.00, but I have seen them sell for much higher.

Living The Creative Life

What a cool idea, this gal painted her set of wooden kitchen spoons and then coated them with Rust-Oleum Zinsser 408 Bulls Eye Clear Shellac Spray. I found this colorful idea on
