Collinsville, CT Resident Jim Koplar An Artist Who Shares Right Brain Awareness With Students At His Farmington Valley Arts Center Studio

Although Jim Koplar is one of the newer artists to lease artspace (Studio 5A) at The Farmington Valley Arts Center, Jim has been painting and teaching right brain awareness to emerging artists for quite awhile. Somehow, Jim, a Collinsville resident, manages to juggle a full time job as a building inspector with his love of making and teaching art and playing music.
Paintings Of Back Home Warmth
I remember Jim arriving to The Farmington Valley Arts Center and establishing a fully packed studio in a matter of hours (o.k. a day). His artwork depicts local and regional points of interest as well as landscapes, seascapes, still life and portraiture. His pastels and paintings are bold and colorful and convey a sense of back home warmth and comfy small town living.
Art Is A Journey Through Different Seasons Outside And Inside
Jim describes his journey as a study of not only the changing seasons around him but the experience of the changing seasons within him. He enjoys shifting from different subjects, yet developing a style which is now becoming recognizable as his unique interpretation of the world around him.
What is very refreshing about Jim is that he part of a rare breed of artists that offers original work instead of giclee prints at a price point accessible to many.

Original Art You Can Bring Home For The Holidays
When you visit Jim's studio which will be open today and throughout the holiday season with a special schedule (see below), do not ponder too long about taking home one of his original pastels or paintings, because he has an active following and work leaves his studio as fast as he makes it, which is remarkably quick.
